Not particularly spicy but very interesting, this fascinating vegetable was grown in a pottery friend’s garden. After you peel off the paper, they look like a tomato. We roasted ours, making delicious salsa verde for some awesome nachos. Give them a try if you ever have the opportunity!

I screeched to a halt on a bike ride to take these photos. (Not bad for an iPhone, right?) These early vines are so vibrant and they are a precursor of things to come… I love the medley of colors!
