Fostering a new renaissance through creativity, authenticity, spirituality, and art
It’s pretty embarrassing, but I’ve spent 21 years in my authentic retro kitchen with an ugly fan over my stove that I haven’t used in decades, and most of those years the fan has been covered with duck tape because it is incredibly drafty in the winter. A year ago, I finally had a wonderful … Read more
“She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go. She let go of the fear. She let go of the judgments. She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head. She let go of the committee of indecision within her. She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons. Wholly … Read more
Recently, I shared photos from my walk around my neighborhood that I’ve done for years. I like that walk for obvious reasons – it’s lovely and a loop right out of my front door, complete with gardens close up. But it makes a more leisurely ramble than exercise, partly due to it’s flatness, but also … Read more
Last week my town overwhelmingly voted NOT to sell our water to the multinational corporation Aquarion who owns almost all of Connecticut’s water
Each year, New Pond Farm puts on a wonderful Shakespeare play after a three week camp for middle schoolers and early high schoolers. We enjoy this occasion especially because we usually know a bunch of homeschoolers who are in it

Today I made my yearly sojourn to the Newtown library sale. Other than buying about ten movie DVD’s and about five novels for myself, I mostly bought board books and picture books as gifts for young ones in my life.
This my husband’s go-to recipe when we need to bring something yummy and quick (like to the picnic before the Shakespeare play last Tuesday, or to today’s pool party.) For decades, people have exclaimed over these moist miracles and they quickly disappear. The Sprouted Spelt Flour is the secret of their wholesome goodness (see photo … Read more
I recommend this Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival held on the lovely grounds of Boscobel with its outstanding view. We saw All’s Well that Ends Well last night, preceded by a picnic with friends and ogling the majestic panorama at our feet; it was wonderful. These actors perform to an intimate three-sided audience as entertainment instead … Read more
Our youngest daughter is back from a two week program of cattle-working in Colorado. She had a great time and flew home on July 4th to an awesome display of fireworks from above. She keeps repeatedly saying the whole trip was “so fun,” which is the majority of our non-specific feedback! Offered as a co-ed … Read more
