Read this book if you are up for a story both worthwhile and different.
I did not like the movie based on this book when I saw it; I remember it as unsatisfying and rather frustrating, so I would not have chosen to read this.
This novel was a refreshing change of time and place for me. It was set mostly in the mid 1950’s in Montana. The wild west was tipping toward a new era, where history and tradition would clash with progress.
Books about war are not my favorite genre, so it took a book club to get me to read this one about World War II. We had a great discussion about it this evening.
I really enjoyed this light book about a young woman with an amazingly discerning palate. She can taste anything and tell you what is in it and what it needs.
Well, unless you were a reader of Three Junes, and you want closure on that story, I don’t recommend taking the time to read this one.
