After weeks of sub zero and single digit temperatures, the “January thaw” has occurred, when temperatures in the 30’s seem as balmy as spring. Here are some photos taken last weekend just south of here.

Five Years After the Sandy Hook School Shooting
But now after five years, guns are fired in schools on a weekly basis, barely even making the news. Far from shocking us into preventative action, it seems that the tragedy in Newtown paved the way for other atrocities.

We have a lovely peach crop this year with four trees laden with them. The oldest tree has so many that we’ve had to prop its branches up with 2 x 4’s to help the tree not break under the extra weight.
