From previous blog posts, I’ve been requested to share the recipe for these muffins. They are also a satisfying breakfast, full of whole grain and fruit.
Here are some quotes by famous artists that are new to me. These quotes came from all sorts of sources. Enjoy!
We’ve been without snow cover for a couple weeks. After four inches of rain on Monday –which would have equaled an intimidating amount of snow– it is finally snowing again. I took these photos of my neighbor’s snow-dusted lawn chairs, struck by the seasonal dichotomies that merged in each frame. Enjoy!
I have finally read this popular book which has been on my reading list for years. As with so many others, I give it five stars for its compellingly evocative writing of both circus life and life in an assisted living facility. The menagerie of vivid characters were clearly drawn, the pace and the segues … Read more
At our recent homeshooling presentation meeting, my son talked about how a bill becomes a law using this flow chart he created.

Today I’m doing something I’ve never done before. Stephen R. Covey’s quote, “Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results,” comes to mind. So I’m stepping out in sanity today, and signing up for a weight loss contest. Sponsored locally, everyone puts $60 in a kitty (no small commitment for me) to join … Read more
I can’ t believe I actually listened to all of this horrible new book by Julie Powell. The subtitle is Marriage, Meat and Obsession, but it would be more aptly subtitled Butchery, Adultery, and Self-Loathing.
I saw the movie Leap Year last night and really liked it. I give it fives stars. Her choice of simple authenticity over money and prestige is a timeless theme I’ll never tire of. I would have liked to have seen this movie all over again right when it was done. (Our audience applauded at … Read more
In the book I reviewed yesterday I studied the twelve “design motifs.” I enjoyed doing one each day in my Box-a-Day art journal. There are lots of possibilities here!
