Here are the photos that I took from the New England Robotics FIRST district championships, that do not include those of our team (which you can see here).
I had a great time watching our youngest daughter’s FIRST robotics team compete in the New England Robotics Championships in Massachusetts. I went up to watch the last two days, and it is a suprisingly engaging spectator sport; all the people and action were fascinating, with widely varied approaches to both robot solutions and team style.
Today we just learned that we have qualified this year as well for the New England Championships!
This was quite a life lesson about being prepared whether or not you think you’ll get a chance!
High school is a time to tailor offerings even more diligently to the specific needs of our unique pupils than ever before. It is not a time to buckle to the “system” and start playing the “game.”
Team 1009 was challenged this year by underfunding, etc. but enthusiasm for the process ran high and they won the Spirit Award at the Boston Regional.
Well, the FIRST robotics season is over and my kids brought their robot to the homeschooling science fair, and did a great job teaching little kids about it.
Today we visited Worcester Polytechnic Institute, or WPI as most people refer to it, in Worcester, Massachusetts. We left with a positive impression.
