New Plein Air Pastel Landscape: Tree at Hill-Stead Museum

Plein Air Painting Hill-Stead Museum

I am privileged to be part of an 18 member workshop with the renowned pastelist Richard McKinley this month, so you will be seeing posts about this in the coming weeks. Here is the painting I painted while together with this group on the lovely grounds of the Hill-Stead Museum yesterday. I had never been there before, and plan on returning.

This painting is 8″ x 10″ and painted in pastel on a sanded surface. The weather was glorious and I had a great time! Check out the position of my easel in the photo below; I was near the huge, gracious front porch of the house, looking at the view of an amazing tree bordered by autumn foliage.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. Lovely work. Your choice of colors radiate your joy, and allow me to connect with the tree’s energy and beauty.

    Happiness all around!
