I Got an Award in my First National Juried Show!

I am fortunate enough to have two paintings in this Guilford Arts League annual juried show. It is a competitive show, and I know wonderful artists whose work did not get in, so it is particularly satisfying to be there.
Pastel Society of America’s Materials Show in NYC
The highlight of the day for me was meeting Sandra Burshell, while she reviewed my portfolio. She was very encouraging to me and I loved her immediately.

I have two paintings in this show in Essex, Connecticut, where the theme was “wild and crazy.” It is interesting to see how the theme was interpreted by different artists.

Someone at the opening commented about this painting that I “paint energy,” and that struck me as correct.
My One Woman Show Opens at the Essex Public Library
My one woman show has opened in the Essex, Connecticut Public Library this week. If you are in the area, check it out before the end of July! All the artwork is abstract, and includes both paintings and collages.

The show’s theme was “a Walk Through the…” , hence the landscapes I submitted.
Purely Pastel Show at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts
I really enjoyed going to the opening of this lovely show given by the Connecticut Pastel Society at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut.
