So you can see how sweet this community is, here are some comments that were written to me for my homeschooling memory book by fellow homeschooling mothers, some in excerpted bits, some complete.
Last night I enjoyed a lovely End-of-Homeschooling party to celebrate nearly two decades of homeschooling.
I can’t say enough good things about this science series written by Joy Hakim that was designed for middle schoolers. I read it aloud twice, to two different kids who enjoyed it, and I loved it as much as they did, both times.
Our youngest has chosen to go to Juniata college in south central Pennsylvania, and has sent in her deposit to reserve her place in their class of 2019. She has been attracted to this small, rural, “sciency” liberal arts school all along and it feels like a great fit.
I was requested recently to give some recommendations for good Bible read alouds for children. I promised to pull together this blog as a response, for it is useful for parents, homeschoolers, and Sunday School teachers alike.

I have brought our kids to this weekend of classes at MIT the weekend before Thanksgiving for thirteen consecutive years. It has long been a highlight of our year, and I can’t believe this is the last one!
I love how homeschool kids play, and even in the midst of writing college application essays and doing some intense coursework, this park time is scheduled in as sacrosanct.
Having answered questions on a homeschooling chat-list recently about teaching vocabulary, I thought I’d include my thoughts on the subject here for future reference, or for blog readers out there with kids (whether homeschooling or not).
