God wrenched me out of bed early this morning to paint this abstract of a person playing. The painting is 24” x 30”.
I’m especially pleased with the carved one, which I painted with under-glaze when wet, carved, and then after it was fired, coated with a clear glaze before it was fired again.
I am writing this post in anticipation of going to the MassHOPE homeschooling convention (see here) this coming Friday and Saturday. 10732

The bright side of going off on a wild goose chase today was seeing all this incredible new green, all the more vibrant because it was wet!
I loved this book and give it five stars. It struck me on many levels as it discusses the spirituality of creativity and making art, as well as techniques on writing better and enjoying reading more.

This book was a bit flat and I only give it three stars. A librarian highly recommended it to me as an “engrossing emotional saga,” and I only blog about it now to have you save your time and read something else.
I love the supple magnolia petals, so soft, perishable and fragrant, both pale and bright. I used to climb blooming magnolia trees as a child and their undulating forms often show up in my drawing and painting.

This is a film that everyone should see, and is on par with seeing the movie Food, Inc. This is a well done film on what will prove to be the most important issue for the 21st century: potable water.
The Optimist’s Creed was authored in 1912 by Christian D. Larson. It was adopted as Optimist International’s creed in 1922. As an eternal optimist myself, I think it is a wonderful statement that the world could do better heeding.
Forsythia is such a yummy daffodil color spraying in big early splotches.

I did an exercise of a watercolor pear on four different papers. The pear and the palette were the same in all four, but the papers were very different. I learned that papers make a big difference!
