Trümmelbach falls is the only outlet for the massive glacial melt-off from the Jungfrau glacier, flooding down the inside of the mountain at the rate of 5000 gallons/second, carving and sculpting magnificent caverns on its way.
A great day full of waterfalls, wild alpine strawberries and a rushing mountain stream as it gained momentum.
We walked way out on the glacier and it was windy, cold, and simply exhilarating.

We went for a long walk around town to see the famous chapel bridge from the 14th century, to climb to the medieval ramparts of the city walls, and to visit the beloved but sad lion monument.
Visiting this cliff-hugging guest house has been a specific dream of mine for about twenty years.
We went to the cheese factory in Appenzell, had a very cheesy dinner, walked the town enjoying the flowers and bright architecture, and loved the green surrounding hills.

We had a lovely, wandering, 17,000 step day in Zurich, grateful to have had no problem with jet lag.
