Photos from a Rugged Hike to a Waterfall
The weather today was the best we’ve had. Our youngest daughter and I enjoyed this hike to this waterfall in Redding, Connecticut, even though the way was not easy. Here are my photos from the day. We delighted in frogs, skunk cabbage, and vibrant moss. Once at the waterfall, we took the time to sketch it.
Restaurant Recommendation: Good News Cafe
I’ve been here for lunch a few times in the past, and every time it was memorably terrific, so I chose this location for my birthday dinner. The three of us had a great time and our meals were remarkably delicious.

Well, compared to what I saw in Vermont, the autumn colors in Connecticut haven’t been so incredible, but as you can tell in the photos on this post, we haven’t been without our lovely moments!

I Saw a Lady’s Slipper in the Woods
I was thrilled to find this Lady’s Slipper in the woods. A member of the orchid family, you do not see many of these in the wild in Connecticut!
