In trying to deal with the passing of my friend, it was natural for me to turn to painting. She had always been so supportive of my artwork, especially in depicting spiritual themes. So I painted her pausing to contemplate the bright abstraction of the eternal afterlife, just before stepping through into it. I found the process of painting this comforting and share it here because I thought the result might comfort others as well.
