Abstract Patterns in Snow (Photos)

Now you know for sure that it doesn’t take much to amuse me. Last night, on the way home from my date, we stopped off at the grocery for a few things, and I found myself fascinated by the patterns in the light snow in the parking lot. The lines left by the wheels of the grocery carts, mixed with car tires and footsteps, unwittingly created these intriguing compositions.

I encourage you to find joy in the little things that are so easy to overlook, but are around us all the time. These ephemeral designs got captured in my iPhone, but how many do you pass by, numbly, without even noticing? Let us all find more of these treasures hidden in plain sight! It brings such joy to do so.

Also, something like this is a great compositional exercise to experiment with to discover what configuration of elements makes an abstract interesting…
