House by the Bay (new abstract landscape in pastel) by Polly Castor

This house by the bay is sourced deep in the recesses of my memory from pouring over too many Architectural Digest magazines as a kid. I have finally painted it in this abstract conceptualistic way that catches the spirit of being there– all angles and view and light and basking and color– with the bay as just another horizontal element in the overall architectural design. Our youngest daughter says it reminds her of being on Sanibel Island.

This work is done in pastel and is 18″x24.” You can see the entire work above and some close up details of it below. Prints and merchandise with this on it are available in my gallery here.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. Stunning work Polly. How long does a work like this take to execute?
