A Printmaking Playdate

–

When I was at IAPS (the International Pastel Convention) and took the wonderful class with Dawn Emerson, she said I needed to get a printing press. Without money or space for one, that next morning I asked God to work it out for me. Within a half hour, I was chatting at breakfast with a friend from the Connecticut Pastel Society, telling her how great my class was, and that I hope to connect with a press. Immediately she said, “I have one, just come over.” It was as simple as that, except she’s moving away…

So we needed to have a playdate in her gorgeous studio before her downsizing becomes a reality, which meant I squeezed it in immediately, before my big upcoming trip. We had a great time in in her fabulous spot! I’m so grateful!

You can see the process and results in the photos below, including the paint caked up on the bubblewrap I used. Many of these prints will be used as under paintings for pastel paintings, so are not yet completed works, but fun nonetheless!
