Epic Hike to the Top of Yosemite’s Nevada Falls
This awesome hike was epic for me. Labeled “strenuous” by the Parks Department, it earned that reputation with three vertical miles of trail, equaling 137 flights (yes, flights!) of stairs up.
Back to Yosemite: This Time the Valley
The valley is more populated than other areas of Yosemite, but for good reason. The towering cliffs jutting up from the flat meadows are stunning.
Best Tacos in California
Connoisseurs of tacos say these are the best tacos in California. Chandos Tacos has a food truck that our older daughter frequents in downtown Sacramento on workdays, but we went to one of their restaurant locations on our way back into town.
Elk Photos
We were graced by a heard of elk by the side of the trail. These creatures, not long ago on the brink of extinction, are making a good come back.
Fern Canyon
We enjoyed walking up Fern Canyon in Redwoods National Park where the Jurassic movie was filmed.
Coastal Biking Adventure
This was quite the biking adventure. Misrepresented to us as an old logging road, this trail was not at all what we bargained for, but we still had fun.

Wawona Campground and River
