In our church, young adults graduate from Sunday School at the age of twenty. Since our son hadn’t been home since he turned 20 last summer, our branch church celebrated his graduation over the holidays.
No big Alaskan cruises, exotic Hawaiian vacations, or huge surprise parties for us. Just a marriage that is getting better and better celebrated with a great meal out with our three children.
To say I was unprepared for Christmas was an understatement. I had barely even gotten to the grocery store.

On behalf of local Christian Scientists, Monday evening I officiated (with other faith groups) in the Interfaith Thanksgiving service in Danbury,
I have brought our kids to this weekend of classes at MIT the weekend before Thanksgiving for thirteen consecutive years. It has long been a highlight of our year, and I can’t believe this is the last one!
They carve over 700 pumpkins and invite everyone over to marvel at their hard work and creativity.
In preparation for getting solar panels this fall, we had a new roof installed. The weather was perfect and the guys did a great job!
Today our daughter graduated from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University with her Master’s in Public Administration. We are so proud of her diligence, excellence, values, and accomplishments. She truly glorifies God!
I am very proud to report that my oldest sister has been named the Outstanding Biology Teacher of the Year for the whole state of North Carolina.
All three of our children were far flung in three different states today, but my husband and I had a nice day celebrating Father’s Day together.
We attended a 40th anniversary benefit gala for ARC (Association of Religious Communities) this evening.
After two of our four evergreens came down in the hurricane, we had the other two removed.
As we remember those in the military with gratitude today, can we please pray as well to collectively, avoid war?
