Other than the relatives, the Palo Duro Canyon is my favorite place to visit when in Amarillo.  In these photos, you’ll see why.  In the first photo below you can see what the basic topography of the area is like: flat.  That makes this lovely canyon even more of a delightful surprise.  This time I caught it in glowing late afternoon light, which cast some photos, depending on their juxtaposition with the sun, in a remarkably warm luminescence.
