I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. I think you should write an artist statement for each of your pieces. You have written in the past about your opinion that titling your abstract works is important to you. However artists also write an artist statement that helps the viewer understand what they are looking at and convey any meaning that may not necessarily be obvious.

Here is my artist statement that accompanies my gallery shows. In this painting the I am exploring the idea of the seven synonyms for God of which Truth is one. I am reflecting on how the synonyms overlap and effervesce and are all Truth itself. Some aspects are nearer than others. There are not multiple Truths – only one that is God– but there are many facets and perspectives included in the vastness of the infinite. Sometimes I don’t write out this heady stuff, and let my viewer enjoy my artwork on their own terms. In this case, it was sufficient for me that I knew what I was thinking. I was working through these thoughts, not making a point. But you are right, when I am making a point, I’ll want you to know it, even though I strive for my art to speak for itself.

This is wonderful. I could get lost in the color combinations in the small brush strokes just to the right of the large circles!
