We’ve entered into a season of waiting. Waiting for the pandemic to be over. Waiting for friends and loved ones to feel better. Waiting for quarantine to be over. Waiting for the election to be over. Waiting to see loved ones again.
And now, Advent begins, which is the traditional season of waiting– waiting for the Christ child to be reborn in our hearts.
Waiting for Christmas. Waiting for a New Year.
Waiting… that’s what this 22″x30″ pastel painting is about. It is a hopeful, trying-to-be-patient time. A yearning and reaching time. A growing, unfolding, and enfolding time.
