We returned three times to try to get a good view of Lake Louise. The first time, I exclaimed to our daughter, “This is a cathedral and (motioning to the glacier) there’s the alter.” It was so glad to be back.

I used to think it would be great to stay at the Fairmont Chateau there (which is ridiculously expensive making our tent more attractive), but since it was raining, we opted for an indulgent buffet breakfast there with a great view of the mountainside just outside the window. That was fun and you can see photos of that below, as well as those from the delightful day, just before leaving Banff, when we actually had sun and could see the view clearly!
