My mom would have turned 100 today. She was born on November 12, 1925, and I was her youngest child, born to her later in life. She was an amazing, creative, intuitive, loving person; she was an artist, had high moral standards, and was a beautiful soul. I loved her fiercely and felt keenly her marginalization as a woman, which turned me into a staunch feminist. She and my dad had a 65 year marriage and were devoted to one another. In the last photo below, you can see the house they lived in for over 50 years.
Here are some links about her on this blog:
A poem I wrote about her:
Some of her paintings:

Some of our favorite recipes of hers on this blog:
Polly’s Mom’s Baked Mac and Cheese
Polly’s Mom’s Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Polly’s Mom’s Yam and Cranberry Casserole
I try to honor my mother everyday, and I am most grateful for her.
I’m wondering, what will someone be saying about you and me when are (or would have been) 100?
