Maiden movie review

This was a wonderful documentary; try to see it if you can. It is the story of Tracy Edwards who led the first all female crew on a male dominated sailing race around the world. It happened back in 1989, and this documentary interviews the crew, the competitors, and the press, now thirty years later. This adds a lot of dimension to the story.

The real time film clips from thirty years ago give an authentic feel to the events, but are also subpar in quality, not always in focus. But I teared up in the end regardless. It is always good to see someone accomplish their dream, and be victorious over imposed limitations.

I give this 5 stars, and I’m glad I took time in a busy week to see it. I think you will too!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
