This is the 30th annual croquet match between St. John’s College and the Naval Academy in Annapolis. In all that time, the Navy has only won five times.
It is quite a scene, and one our daughter thought we shouldn’t miss while she was a student here; she was right (as you can see in the photos below!) It is quite an unique occasion. There were three concurrent croquet matches going on, surrounded by lots of picnicking and fabulous attire.
Our daughter, as the school’s “Dance Archon” (in charge of the school’s swing dance program) not only made the playlist that resounded throughout the place, but was interviewed live on the radio.
Fun was had by all, and the St. John’s team (this year donning campus security guard uniforms) trounced the spiffy Navy in a clean sweep of 5 to 0!
