My New Poem: Let It Be

My New Poem: Let It Be

Let it Be

like Atlas carrying the world
taking too much responsibility
I need a vacation
from introspection
pressure
huge expectation and crippling hope
that shrivels and snivels
trying to make it all right
with too much effort
knowing what it could be
with too much intensity
and too much tenacity
why do only I have the vision
but they have theirs too
that I don’t get and they don’t get mine
will it ever come together
or does it even need to
the world rolls on without assistance
so put it down
maybe they will too
we’ve been dangerously tossing it back and forth
full of opinions and dogmatic perspective
who can carry it better
my way or your way
enough already
let it rest
there is a bigger plan
one of peace without exertion
harmony without opposition
purpose without permission
freedom without dissimulation
oneness without amalgamation
distinct core unique individuality
mutually embraced
honored and celebrated
genuinely
without explanation
without procrastination
complete before commenced
carefully cosseted
I’ll do my part
summer will soon start
and I’ll float
imperturbable
unruffled
unwittingly ubiquitous
bearing the solution
locked deep inside the largest patience
supporting me to leave it alone
enjoying serendipitous simplicity instead
trusting only providence to uphold and transmit it all
as the world rolls on unaided safely as it should
