Clouds are Necessary
You want only clear sailing?
Don’t rain on your parade?
Clouds get a bad rap.
Think again.
Clouds are not
a burden to bear.
There is a cloud
within every piece of paper
any poem is written upon,
since the cloud waters the tree
from which the paper was made.
Water is over sixty percent
of the human body too.
We can’t be separated from it.
We drink water, bathe in it,
all our food requires it.
The fibers in the clothes we wear
are only possible because of it of it.
Water covers seventy one percent
of the earth, and fills all living
creatures from whales to bumblebees.
The sunny day cannot get all
the credit for your happiness.
Clouds keep everything refreshed,
flushed out, and not parched.
So what that it’s
cloudy and rainy again
all this week.
Remember that clouds
are our essential friends.
They are life affirming too,
so don’t be so impatient
for them to go.
