Day 22: West Coast of Newfoundland

Day 22: West Coast of Newfoundland

We had a lovely time at these seaside arches on our drive up the west coast of Newfoundland.

We drove the whole western length of Newfoundland to get to the Viking Settlement and took our time exploring about. We saw icebergs in “iceberg alley” (that’s Labrador across the way behind that zoomed in photo above). We saw isolated villages, whales breaching from the shore, and a lovely river with a great name– Castor’s River–where they were salmon fishing. The road was a lovely one, between mountains on one side and the sea on the other. Check out these photos of our meanderings to the northern most tip of Newfoundland.

Additionally, the first photo below shows how this part of the world was central to the break up on Pangea. The second shows a wonderful fabric model of the carnivorous pitcher plants we’ve seen everywhere that I blogged about here.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
