Oh my gosh, we saw a bobcat at our local swimming hole yesterday. It was the second one I’ve seen in Connecticut after having been here for 35 years. The other time was when I was on my walk at Huntington, but that one was was further away, and I didn’t get a picture of him then. This one was larger and not at all skittish, right there in the parking lot, after probably enjoying a drink in the water. How extraordinsry!

How beautiful that bobcat is, and so unconcerned about humans nearby. The animals have had to adjust to people living on their land, and sometimes they infringe on our world. Here in Colorado we have had an influx of bears coming down from the hills because of the fires in the mountains. Mostly we all get along.

That is huge! We had a bear in our lake neighborhood earlier in the summer. It was photographed in several locations, but has not been seen since. I think it was just moving through.
