Consent to Go Forward
That rock in the path
a jagged obdurate mass
or a wobbling loose boulder
even a impenetrably craggy cliff face
or a heap of volatile shifting rubble…
Do they trip us,
make us fall,
induce frustration,
or bring us to a standstill?
Do we perceive what is before us
as an obstacle or an opportunity,
a stumbling block or a stepping stone?
Our approach and attitude
make all the difference.
What is it
that is in your way
threatening your stability
or impeding your progress?
Refuse to be intimidated.
Err on the side of audacity.
Do not accept being thwarted.
Buck up and let courage find a foothold.
Stretch out your arms for balance.
Vault that hurdle or scamper around that barrier.
Dissolve it or love your way beyond it.
We are only stopped
by our own unenlightened permission.
There is always a solution
when we give ourselves
consent to go forward.
