Two New Found Paper Collages

Two New Found Paper Collages

found paper collages by Polly Castor

Here I have been experimenting with collage compositions made of found paper. I’m looking at how straight shapes contrast with non straight shapes, how values interact, and how color moves your eye around the picture plane. I’m also wondering how much complexity is too much, with the bottom one pushing the edge of that. Since I didn’t make these papers as I usually do, these feel very different than my usual work.

They are experiments in my large quilted (Mama Bear) artist journal so are not for sale. However you can get prints and merchandise with these images on them. Might be an interesting puzzle, yoga mat, or greeting card?

What do you think?

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
