This is a good novel about mistakes and forgiveness.
It follows ex-con Violet being released from prison and her eventual redemption, while also highlighting the woman who runs the book group in the prison, and the gentleman who is the victim of her crime. Meanwhile, there is a diversion with parrots and their intelligence, and her family who washes their hands of her.
It is a short, satisfying, and well written read, although the title is misleading. I read this because I liked her previous novel as well (see blog review here).
How to Read a Book is a story of second and third chances. You might enjoy this one too; I give if four stars.
