We are half-way through our Reading Challenge for 2025, and I’m right on schedule. How are you doing?
The goal is to read 52 books a year, or an average of one per week. This pace is seems to be a good one for me; how is it for you?
I read in a full range between edifying and entertaining, with a mixture of substantial stuff and downright fluff (that we affectionately call palette cleansers). What do you read?
Above, you can see some of the spines of the ones I’ve liked best so far this year (although there are others I liked as well that I listened to on audio). Below you can see my whole list so far. I am moving now onto my second page. Eventually, we’ll see if I supersede my goal, and go onto page three by the end of the year.
I am reading, as usual, many things simultaneously, so we’ll see what gets done. I have several non-fiction books and many art books that I’m proceeding very slowly on. Also not included here are the cookbooks I’ve been reading, so if I fall short of my goal, I may decide to include those, because I actually do read them, and some are more narrative than others.

I know some of you read way more than I do, and others of you read significantly less. The number is not the point, but having a happy, ongoing reading habit is to be encouraged. I find it expands my horizons, adds all sorts of interest to my life, continues my education, brings me inspiration, and besides all that, can be greatly amusing.
How is your reading life going? Are you using the reading form I made for this year? Do you like it? Any changes to it you want for next year? What do you books are you liking? We’d love your book recommendations, so please put them in the comments below.
