Entwined (New Large Pastel Painting)

To paint the idea of Entwined, I printed with a single string a line on sanded mixed media pastel paper, and then juxtaposed color and value within that to give the spaces between depth and interest. In a couple places I used sparkly navy pastels. In the process, I started musing how we were all entwined, aren’t we? Do you see how everything is entwined, held together by a single line?
The painting is 19.7″x 27.6″ and done in pastel. You can see the entire pastel above and close up details of it below.
