We are delighted our niece and her husband just had a baby! (See this blog of their wonderful wedding in 2021.)

My usual gift for extended family is books, and they know I buy them second hand, for I believe both in supporting reading and saving the environment. Fortunately we have near us one of the most amazing book sales in the country (over $300,000 books each year) every July– see bottom photo– where I stock up on my gifting options. I choose things that are clean and unmarked, but also enthusiastically loved by our family. Secondhand also means I get to be more generous! This gift cost more to mail than to buy.

So for those of you looking for great board books, those in this post are wonderful suggestions. This little girl will get another batch at Christmas; I already have them!
