Abstract Photos of a Friend’s Basement

Abstract Photos of a Friend’s Basement

Abstract Basements Photos

When I teach classes about abstraction, I like to show some photos to clarify that abstraction is all around us. I encourage you to see them everywhere you go too. This recent visit to a friend’s large, and historically rich basement, was full of such abstract compositional opportunities.

Look at each of these photos as if it was a stand alone abstract art composition, instead of just a snap shot in a basement. See how the shapes and colors and textures move your eye around the picture plane? See the classic design motifs? A couple of these I’ll probably paint someday. After looking at these, go on your own treasure hunt, and see what abstract compositions you can find where ever you are.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. I love e x p a n d i n g

the usual way of seeing………. away from the same-ole-same-ole perspectives

    …..to consider things differently….from another’s viewpoint….

What if we had never seen A Whole Elephant….only heard the descriptions that five blind men touching different parts of same?
Wow, what a picture we’d get, huh!

So many…. viewpoints, out there…. So many slants, angles, opinions.

SO grateful to glimpse that there really is ONLY ONE that gives the
full and final Word about Creation! Oh, but this is another subject.

    (My fave, of course.)

(And of course Art is such a great Teacher!)

Love the photos, as usual. You are a Creative Genius, Polly.
