On the edge of the World (gouache) by Polly Castor

“When something is right for me, I always have an indescribable sense of peace about it. Knowing that this sense of peace is available as a guide and criterion gives me a great sense of confidence regarding decision. If I am considering a course of action, I look closely at the feelings that this prospect evokes. Is there a sense of pressure, compulsion, confusion? Is there a desire to have the approval of others, even though I may be acting against my better judgment? Is there a fear that unless I act, I will lose an important opportunity?”
“Reason and logic alone rarely offer final guidance, although they can be extremely helpful in briging to light the various factors I need to consider and be aware of. It is this one simple question that always leads me to the answer: “Do I have a sense of peace about this?”
