The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

On the drive to and from the wedding we listened to this classic book by Mark Twain, which I had never read. I really enjoyed it and found it uproariously funny. I was glad I was listening to it rather than reading it since the accents are so much more fun and easy to deal with this way. There are ā€œconsiderable rapscallionsā€ in this story! The story keeps you always interested and moves right along between one episode and the next. Huck is endearing and so is the “Negro,” Jim. There also is a lot of insight into human nature here if you want to take it on that level, but if you donā€™t, there is plenty else to entertain you. But I ā€œdassnā€™tā€ say too much, only that if youā€™re like me and have never taken this story in before, treat yourself to it from your library! The author thought it was his crowning achievement and Iā€™m not surprised. Wonderfully done! (Five stars… duh!)

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
