Since one of you will ask, all of these were taken with my iPhone10.
I take a ton of photos. An average of 13,000 photos are shared on this blog per year, and I take many more. So given that, this post represents only a tiny percent of what I’ve taken this year.
These were the highlights for me, and all were taken by me. (There were photos I loved this year, taken by someone else with my own phone– like me with my workshop participants– that didn’t qualify for this post since I did not take them.)
It was interesting going through and reviewing all my photos from the past year; I’ve never done it before. If time allows, I’ll try to have this as a regular end-of-the-year “favorite photos” blog feature.
What makes a great photograph? Maybe it is hard to separate the subjective from the objective, but I love what is pure, authentic, and true, what is colorful and well composed, what makes you want to enter or extend the story further, what inspires and intrigues, and makes us marvel at the Creator.
Enjoy all of that here. Let me know in the comments what you like the most. Life surely is good!
Here’s to some great photo opportunities in 2023!

Hard to choose the best! Polly, you see beauty everywhere even in the ordinary .
I love the butterfly on the flower, the light shining through the trees, reflections on water and those you took on your recent Caribbean trip. Nature is amazing x -
Polly,
I really appreciated seeing this collection. The photos are so delightful and show a keen eye for detail, light, and creativity. I am inspired to do the same with my photos for 2023. Thank you -
I love the blue chairs in a circle on the beach!
With all that you do, I figured out how you get it done! There are NINE Pollies discussing what to do next! (smile).
