Photo and poem by Patty Turner

There once was a head of activities,
Who had very creative proclivities,
She worked morn, noon and night
To bring others delight,
Through her contests, art and festivities.

One week was a theme based on flowers
To highlight one’s photographic powers
“Shoot a bloom that you like
“When you’re out for a hike
“Rather than just while away the hours.”

This week was a contest for photos,
For artistes, rather than dodos,
’round the campus they strolled
Snapping orange things quite bold
That elicited “oos,” “awws” and “Oh-Ohs.”

Now I’ve captured a variety of orange things,
From front doors to bird flowers with wings,
But the one I like best,
Is a car light at rest,
With its awesome design fit for kings!

This poem has side-tracked me from working,
But my job I must not now be shirking!
Paper work must be done
Even if it’s not fun
Or the devil will surely be smirking!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. Ha Ha! Love it!

Oh, how de ole debbil tries to keep us in line…with shoulds and rules and such!
Meanwhile, my shutterbug-self needs to ‘take’ every leaf and flower that delights!

What is that? …an old orange-rusted radiator? Insides of a cooler?
    FUN!!

    Thanks!
