We’d often heard of it but had never been. We had no idea it was such a huge affair. This was a diverting way to spend part of yesterday. We needed seed garlic, and also went for lunch.
What we bought you can see in the last photo. We bought German White seed garlic from Piedmonte Garlic Farm, which was a good deal. We also bought Music seed garlic from Buried Treasures Organic Farm, which are beautiful large cloves that are easier to peel. We also bought some fabulous garlic vinegar, as well as some “dessert chevre” (chocolate), which I’d never had before.
And with all that choice, what did we eat? We skipped the black garlic cupcakes and the garlic ice cream, and settled on a lobster roll and a German potato pancake…
Enjoy my photos below of our wander through this fair as we sampled the delights on offer. If you are local, the festival goes through today, so you still can catch it before you have to wait another year. Check out their website here for details.
