This is the adorable town my friends and I got to paint in. It was small enough to walk around in and explore, interesting without being overwhelming, while still letting you feel like you could get to know it a bit in a short time. The views of the surrounding countryside were lovely, and conveniently has walls to support your sketchbook.
I loved the pollarded trees. It was the first time I had seen them in person, with my only experience of them prior in other people’s paintings, particularly those of Van Gogh.
We did quite a bit of painting here, but also a lot of walking around, looking at everything through our artist eyes. We spent time in town parks as well, and I’ve collected my nature photos of the place in a blog for you tomorrow.
So grateful for this opportunity!

Beautiful photos of a beautiful village! What an adventure!
Polly, I finally placed an order with Blick. I still could not find a Shop Now button on my computer but I was able to use the Link from your Favorite Materials page. Thanks for providing that very helpful list. Could you advise the best paint for Gelli printing. I have several types of older acrylics and some work but others do not. You Tube videos say cheap acrylic paint works best like Liquitex but I would like to get your recommendation when you have a moment. Many Thanks!!
