Hans Hofmann Show at the Yale Art Gallery

I have long appreciated Hans Hofmann’s work as both an artist and an influential teacher to an early generation of abstractionists. Last Saturday, my husband and I went to see this small show of his at the Yale Art Gallery, which is up until June. In this post, you can get the gist of the show, his work as a colorist, his bold mark making, and sometimes very thick paint. His painting The Golden Wall at the Art Institute of Chicago is my favorite of his. You can see that painting here.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
