2025 goal review

Thriving Pond (acrylic with collage) by Polly Castor

My resolutions/goals for 2025 are shown below, with my comments on whether they were met or not:

I wanted to say YES! equally to all these (in no particular order):

  • start a podcast (YES! I did it; 50 episodes available and counting. See here.)
  • write that book on spirituality (Nope, but I still want to. It won’t be 2026 either.)
  • pure eating and breathless exercise (good on food; fair weather exercise ok, poor weather non-existent– will be working on that more in 2026.)
  • painting or artist journaling everyday (Yes and no. Spotty, with some wonderfully great bursts.)
  • have a one woman show in November (YES!  It was wonderful; thank you for making it great!)
  • start an society of abstraction in pastel (Nope. I’d still like to do this, but it is simmering on the back burner, more of a cherished idea trying to bud than an action plan.)
  • travel to Italy, Turkey/Greece/Sardinia, Maine, North Carolina (YES! All of it was wonderful. So grateful!)
  • get new paperback copies of Science and Health sold on Amazon (I tried, but hit road blocks.)
  • post daily on Instagram stories and Pinterest (Yes to Instagram stories, but not yet posting on Pinterest.)
  • collaborate on making a new church website (working on it but not finished.)
  • get daily, non-negotiable focus time (yes. I have to defend it though.)
  • a great 17th year for the daily blog (well what do you think? I showed up every day and posted everyday, even with more travel than ever.)
  • 8 hours per night of restful sleep (working on it; not quite there; 7 hours most nights unless up working odd hours.)
  • apply to artist-in-residencies (not yet. Have a list of them now, though.)
  • embrace speaking engagements (yes, but could easily do this more if asked more.)
  • expanding my concept of God (YES! Thank God!)
  • Skillshare and Masterclass (Skillshare no and daughter’s subscription is over; but Masterclass did some cooking classes.)
  • serving as reader in church (Yes! ongoing and enjoying it.)
  • selling more paintings (Yes! the show helped, and I met some wonderful new people as buyers too!)
  • time to read and study (some, but I want much more in 2026.)
  • perfect opportunities (We had amazing opportunities this year! Like a boat in the Aegean sea!)
  • family and friends  (YES! lots of this!)
  • healing clients (Yes! lots of this too!)
  • time in nature (Yes! lots of this, like those amazing hikes in Sardinia and Tahoe!)
  • orderliness (general level of house tidiness was better, but very little deep work on it though.)
  • listening (YES! tons.)
  • progress (yes, but always hungry for more.)

Lots of yes there! All in all, it was a fabulous year in my life. I am so grateful. Thank you for being here with me for it!

How did you do on your goals past year? How did your New Year’s Resolutions pan out?

The Comforts of Pure Love (pastel) by Polly Castor

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
