The idea for this painting germinated from the intro to a favorite show All Creatures Great and Small, which traverses winding, hilly roads toward town and home. Here too in Connecticut roads are undulating and indirect, surrounded too by foliage and fields, and there are many ways to get to the same place. It was fun to finally paint this abstract idea.

I can see the connection with a much loved UK programme hailing from Yorkshire!
My husband was brought up in Yorkshire and those places featured in the programme and our son lives in a Yorkshire village with his family, so we are still able to visit the area. I love the painting! It’s good to know you live in such an area too. X
