Bracken (New Large Painting in Acrylic)

Bracken (New Large Painting in Acrylic)

Bracken by Polly Castor

I’ve been looking closely at the brambled thickets and bracken here in the late fall. The all over density and thickness of detail is fascinating. I like how abstract it seems, while still being representational.

I finally decided to paint it, and here is the result, measuring 22″x30″ and done with a wide range of mark making materials in acrylic. See the entire work above and details of it below.

What do you think? Do you ever look deep into the brambles?

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. It’s beautiful! I love looking at trees after the leaves have fallen, all the different ways that each type finds to accomplish essentially the same purpose…find sunlight.

Love this! Yes I love how the ornamental grasses look in the Fall and moving in the breeze.
