We drove north on very mountainous, windy road to swim in the multicolored waters of the Emerald Coast. I frequently and repeatedly buy turquoise pastels, so it was especially fun for me to be submerged in that color! I also had some fabulous vegetarian lasagna.
Then we took a boat to Cala Luna- which are exceptional sea side limestone caves on the east coast of Sardinia (only accessible by boat). The boat dropped us off and we could see the two caves shown here by foot; after that, we had to swim to the six others, which were more remarkable, but alas, I had no camera with me to record their wonders. They were huge caverns, which were cool, dry, and intensely restful after a swim across the waves to get to them. We joined many previous visitors by leaving a small stack of smooth rounded white stones each, in the porous gaps in the cave wall. Being surrounded by these felt like being surrounded by prayer candles in a cathedral. Wish I could have had a photo of that!
After boating back, I had a Mediterranean salad, followed by and an amazingly delicious liquid lemon sorbet for dessert. In the last photo, you can see the approach to our hillside town as we returned on the very windy mountain roads from the north. What a great day!
