My Birthday 2024

I’ve been around the sun again!

I had a nice birthday yesterday. I spent the day responding to well wishers via text and social media, and with phone calls from both daughters and both sisters. Thank you to everybody who reached out.

We made birthday cookies (27’s to mail to our daughter for her birthday next week) and those two round orange ones were mine. Here is that fabulous recipe. I asked for biscuits from James and he made deliciously dreamy ones for me with Gruyere for lunch, shown below, and also took me out to a lovely dinner– where I had falafel and Brussels sprouts– and then on to church.

You can see the lovely gifts I got from James and my sisters below: two books from my wish list, the SCOPA card game I read about in this book, wonderful Seawhite artist’s paper, new brushes I needed, and some lightfast, neutral watercolors to use as under-paintings for my pastels.

I’m so grateful to be here with all of you. Thank you for being in my life and making my days and my years so sweet.
