The Green Book (Movie Review)

We saw this movie last weekend on our anniversary and loved it.

It is about an Italian man from the Bronx who is hired as a driver for an erudite, virtuoso pianist on his tour through 1962 south. The hitch is that the pianist is black, and the main character goes from being a racist at the beginning of the film to standing up for the black man at the end. They become friends, and it is delightful to see. The title refers to the green book that lists the colored only motels as they travel.

The music both of the road trip radio and the concert performances are fabulous. We loved this period piece, based on a true story, and think you might too. We give it five stars.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
