I have just seen a piece done for us at Creative Arts Camp by mime Karen Montanaro on the Necessity of Arts in Education that needs to be filmed and become a YouTube sensation. I will certainly do my part in forwarding her perfect expression of that message to as many people as I can. I couldn’t get on my feet fast enough to give her a standing ovation.

In the meantime you can have her come to your school or organization and give an amazing live performance. Here is the information for Karen’s programs:

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. For many years our fifth grade students were fortunate to spend a week in workshops with Karen learning about mime and dance. Karen has the ability to silence 25 eager, excited 10 year olds with her expressive face and a few dance moves. At the end of the week the students performed their dance routines in front of the entire school audience and some parents. What a performance it was! Some of the most troubled students blossomed under her guidance. My students and I were so lucky to have Karen as part of our learning experience.
